- West Main Street water extension- $29,000
-East Main Street water extension- $36,036
- First Avenue water expansion- $28,325
Monies Allocated to Laurel Revitalization:
- Laurel Town Square Mural Project- $4,000
-Match reimbursement to planning for work title search and
surveying of proposed Historic District- $4,000
- Approximate current financial balance as of October 1, 2010:
$184,000. This is an unconfirmed figure. City Treasurer will have
exact figures upon request
Activities Report
- Face to face meetings with property owners to educate on
TIFD law. In conjunction with Laurel Alive surveys collecting
important community opinion, and information.
- Guests and education: Harry Gottwalls (Billings Depot),
Randy Hafer (High Plains Architecture), Chris Mehus (Beartooth
RC &D,) Jim Green (Montana Association of Passenger Trains), Pat
Weber (Financial Services Manager, City of Billings), Riley Cooke
and Robert Ulrich(Laurel Movie Haus), Bill Sheridan and Ken
Olson(City of Laurel)Tom Miller and Jerry Williams(LightNex)Kurt
Markegard(City of laurel)
Programs:
- Facade Improvement: Currently awaiting council approval.
- Technical Assistance: Currently awaiting council approval.
- Revolving Loan Fund: Currently in progress of being
established and submitted for approval.
- Annual Work Plan: Completed and awaiting full board
approval.
- Working closely with other local groups such as Laurel Alive
and the Chamber of Commerce toward the common goal improving
the business district of downtown Laurel.
Planned activities:
- Education of City Council members of TIFD law.
- Continued education of property owners and Laurel citizens.
- Appointing committees for programs following approval.
- Continue to invite guests to LURA meetings in order to
inform the Agency of development within the TIF District.
*May it be noted that LURA is the only appointed committee in the
City of Laurel that requires an annual written report to City Council,
and that little to no direction was given as to formatting an outline
for an annual report.
