Dear Mayor Olson,
CITY OF LAUREL
Today, like many of my days off, I find myself packing a bag and preparing my small
children for the ride into Billings. As I sit there and watch my kids play in the water at the spray
park, I wonder why it is that we in Laurel don't have something such as this for our small
children to do. The city pool is a great facility, however, as you well know 36 inches is simply
too deep for small children to be safe. When I was growing up in Laurel there was a shallow
pool for small children at the public pool, when that went away it was disappointing to not have
something similar replace it. There are so many children in the city of Laurel that would benefit
from such a facility. It is my understanding that the monies are available for such a project and
I am curious as to why those monies have not been freed up for such a project. So I ask you
Mayor Olson, why don't we have such a facility?
