AMENDING SECTION 2.12.020 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL
CODE, ELECTIVE AND APPOINTIVE OFFICES.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 2.12.020 of the Laurel Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2.12.020. Elective and appointive offices.
The officers of the city consist of one mayor, two
aldermen from each ward, one city judge, one city
treasurer, who may be ex officio tax collector, who
must be elected by the qualified electors of the city
as provided in Chapter 2.28. There may also be appointed
by the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the council,
one City Clerk, who is ex officio city assessor, director
of public works, assistant director of public works,
engineer, maintenance director, public utilities director,
and any other officer necessary to carry out the
provisions of this title. The city council may prescribe
the duties of all city officers and fix their compensation
subject to the limitations contained in the municipal
ordinances and state law.
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days
after final passage by the City Council and approval by the
Mayor.

Council on December 3 , 1991, by Alderman Orr
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second
reading this 17th day of December , 1991, upon a motion
by Alderman Collins
