AMENDING SECTION.2.96.180 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL
CODE, HOLIDAYS OBSERVED.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 2.96.180 of the Laurel Municipal
Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 2.96.180. Holidays observed.
A. Employees shall be granted the following holidays:
1. Each Sunday;
2. New Year's Day, January 1;
3. Martin Luther King, Jr., birthday, the third
Monday in January;
4. Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays, the
third Monday in February;
5. Memorial Day, the last Monday in May;
6. Independence Day, July 4;
7. Labor Day, the first Monday in September;
8. Columbus Day, the second Monday in October;
9. Veteran's Day, November
10. Thanksgiving Day, the fourth Thursday in
November;
il. Christmas Day, December 25;
12. State general election day.
If any of the above enumerated holidays (except
Sunday's) fall upon a Sunday, the Monday following
is a holiday. All other days are business days.
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after
final passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
Introduced on first reading at a regular meeting of the City
Council on February 4 , 1992, by Alderman Kilpstrick
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second
reading this 18th day of FeSruary , 1992, upon a motion by
Alderman Orr
APPROVED by the Mayor this 19th day of February , 1992.
