HomeMy WebLinkAboutShane Tracy Laurel City Council Members I recently received a traffic ticket for speeding on an un- posted street. I live east of Laurel and took Railroad road into Ace Hardware. After driving west and turning off Railroad which is posted 35 mph, I turned left onto the west side of Walmart heading south at 35 mph because there is no posted speed limit. The first speed limit sign posted 25 mph is located right before the first entrance into Ace Hardware. When leaving Ace Hardware, there is no posted speed limit until you get back on Railroad road and drive east until you reach the east side of Walmart, which is posted 35 mph. As reputable city council members I would hope that a street sign will be put up at the intersection of Railroad and the west side street of Walmart as well as a posted speed limit sign at each end of the street. In turn this will make most of us that received a speeding ticket there much happier knowing that the city of Laurel hasn't purposely set up a speed trap. I have included a map of the route I took that day with the adjacent speed limit signs. Thank you for taking the time to resolve this issue. 3 Sincerely, ..k,otit L. `` l «1j E u, MAY 2 2011 , CITY OF LAUREL ( 4r 35 , - - - - - -, - SN91S 133?1/S Q4a ttlw. x ) SNVIS LI W 1 Q33dS Q.10.4314 % 4 Q - 1 1 - i } 1 ) 1 1 1 t e 1 ti Ui ( C CA 1 Z 0 - o t - at 0 ( 1 rd k J A 1 =d g J 7 SZ ' , L a 1 it 3 i 1 cn > 1 — w 5Z nC 1 1 1 -y 1 ' I ) l
