MAIN STREET Members present: Shirley McDermott, Bruce McGee Advisors present: Aletta Zimmerman, Janice Lehman, Steve Zeier Others present: Bill Kampfer, Linda Frickel, Joanne Flynn, Heidi Jensen, Tom Nelson, Shirley Ewan, Zak Allread Janice says S. 4 St. quotes are in and now Dean and Bob from the bank are going to the property owners to get commitments. They need to have over half to agree. And they can pay in full or add it to their property taxes. The City will pay $50,000 for leveling. Routing of traffic will be a concern as the work before created quite a traffic mess. This work should take a couple of weeks. Linda says Laurel Alive has all the bands Tined up and the last evening will be Sept. 9. They still need more volunteers. Joanne says the Chamber is working on July 4 There is also a seminar for any business Tues and Thurs starting at 7 a.m. Shirley M., Shirley E., Heidi and the Mayor toured the TIF district and discussed the sidewalks in detail. At the next meeting there will be a presentation on some projects to look at, especially on the East end. Kurt Markegard did not show to speak to LURA. July 16 is the East /West Shrine game at Laurel High School. All the pot holes will need to be filled by then, actually by July 4. Montana Rail Link is discussing fueling stations near the Pelican and along Main Street. They may need to design a buffer and we may want to get involved. Parking on the south side of main is still on the table. Shirley Ewan is working on our budget and need to know what projects might be coming. We are still waiting on Kurt M. to give us an inventory of the "underground" money we may need to help with. Shirley says we should create a committee to review proposals from engineers and architects. Tom, Steve Shirley M. and Heidi volunteered. The sidewalk at the Chamber is in bad shape as is the sign and the garbage are located on the sidewalk which makes for a dangerous problem. The sign needs to be replaced soon. New Business —The vacancy for Chief Admin. Officer has been narrowed down to 6 people.
