AMENDING SECTION 5.04.070 OF THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL
CODE, ISSUANCE AND DENIAL OF A BUSINESS LICENSE.
BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 5.04.070 of the Laurel Municipal
Code be amended to read as follows:
Section 5.04.070. Issuance and denial.'
A. If the Treasurer shall determine that any applicant for
a license or any person interested in the ownership of
any business sought to be licensed are persons of such
character that the business to be licensed may be
operated in such manner as to be detrimental to the
public health; peace, morals or general welfare of the
City, such application shall be denied; otherwise the
application shall be granted.
If the City Treasurer shall find, after investigation,
that the premises or buildings of the business to be
operated under license are in unsafe condition, or, are
constructed or operated in such a way as to be detrimental
to the public welfare, the Treasurer shall deny the
application for license.
This Ordinance shall become effective
thirty (30) days after
final passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
Introduced on first reading at a regular meeting of the
City Council on September 1, 1992 , by Alderman Orr
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Laurel City Council on second
reading this 15th day of September , 1992, upon a motion
