COUNCIL CHAMBERS PRESENT: Sam Painter Rick Musson Matt Wheeler Brent Peters Shirley Ewan Nancy Schmidt Jan Faught Council Workshop Agenda — February 22, 2011 General items There were none. Clerk/Treasurer: • Resolution: Award a three year contract for auditing services with Olness & Associates. Shirley will present the contract and resolution at the council workshop. • Resolution: Authorizing the city to purchase from the State of Montana Property & Surplus Bureau Shirley will present the resolution at the council workshop. Laurel Urban Renewal Agency: • Presentation regarding RFP for Architect/Engineer for the Facade and Technical Assistance Programs. LURA representatives will present the issue to the council. Public Works Department: • Resolution — Accept bid for sweeper Kurt will present the resolution at tonight's council workshop. Executive Review: • Council Retreat — February 26 The council retreat is scheduled for Saturday. • Council E -mail This item will be discussed at the council retreat on Saturday. • Girls Scout Troop #226: Letter regarding puddles at school crosswalks Kurt will present the issue at tonight's workshop. Matt stated that a culvert needs to be replaced by Graff School and the bulb outs in the State project are retaining water by West School. • Budget process The council will be informed that the department heads are working on their budgets. Budget meetings will be scheduled in April, May and June. • Ordinance correction Department Head Meeting Minutes of February 22, 2011 Sam will explain the typographical error in the recently approved zoning ordinance and present the ordinance to fix it. Other items There were none. Department Reports: Sam asked the department heads if they had any issues for discussion and none were presented. Sam explained some issues with the storage units at 215 South 4 Street behind Town Pump. The owners are trying to sell the business. One section was built before the zoning ordinance was effective and another section was built in violation of the zoning ordinance. Sam will discuss this with the public works department.
