CORRECTING SECTION 17.52.030 OF THE LAUREL
MUNICIPAL CODE, HOME OCCUPATION.
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of
Laurel, Montana, that Section 17.52.030 of the Laurel Municipal
Code be corrected as follows:
Section 17.52.030. Home Occupation.
A. <No change>.
B. <No change>.
C. The following are hereby declared to be customary
home occupations as intended by this section:
a. Dressmaker, seamstress;
b. Music teacher;
c. Artist, sculptor;
d. Author;
e. Emergency treatment only of patients by
physician, dentist or licensed drugless
physician;
f. Emergency interview only of clients by
lawyers, architects, engineers and similar
professions;
g. Minister;
h. Model homes in new developments for the purpose
of maintaining an office during the period of
development; upon 100% completion of the
project, the model home shall be used solely
for dwelling purposes.
D. Any person who intends to use a portion of his
dwelling unit for a home occupation not delineated
in subsection B.2 of this section shall be required
to submit a written request to be designated a
home occupation. This written request shall be
submitted to the planning board seven working days
prior to their regularly scheduled meeting.
The planning board shall consider the request at
their regularly scheduled meeting. The planning
board shall recommend to the city council that the
specific request for a home occupation designation be

granted or denied. The city council shall consider
the planning board's recommendation concerning the
specific occupation designation and shall approve or
deny the request at their next regularly scheduled
meeting.
This Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days after
final passage by the City Council and approval by the Mayor.
