JAYCEES Chapter President aanai Kautzmann 63 September 27, 2010 SEP 2 9 2010 Dear City of Laurel, CITY OF LAUREL The Laurel Jaycees would like to express their concerns for the condition of the levee at the Yellowstone River at Riverside Park. Over the years, we have noticed significant erosion and with the recent incidents with the gas line, power pole and the dock destruction, we are concerned that the entire park is now at an imminent risk. The Laurel Jaycees, along with the other community groups that use the Riverside Park and all of the residents nearby, have put in a significant investment into the facilities and have been continuously providing services for our community for many, many years. We would like to see some action taken to help insure that all of the citizens and community groups that use the Riverside Park are able to protect their investments and continue to provide the services to all of our community for many more years. We understand that taking action on this level may very well be expensive and a long process, but we are willing to help wherever we can. Please let us know what the City of Laurel is planning for Riverside Park and the vulnerable levee that is VERY quickly deteriorating. Sincerely, Jami Kautzmann President of the Laurel Jaycees
