Minutes from July 19,2010 approved as presented
Shirley Ewan says there is$205,000 available plus what will be added before year end. $28,325 was paid
to upgrade the water line for the new Theater. She is still looking for East and West Main invoices.
Financials will be coming as soon as possible.
City Council is questioning the$4,000 in payments to James and wants the City attorney to review. The
mural also is not"a good used of TIF money"according to Emilee Eaton Tuesday Aug.9 we should all try
to attend the City Council meeting.
Linda says Rock the Block is this week,Lions Club is the sponsor,the Caboose has started to be painted,
rock has been delivered to start landscaping,lettering is being settled on. The Mural is coming well and the
Gazette is going to do a story on it. There has been a request for$8,000 to the Arts Council for an awning
next year.
James says the laundramatt is salvageable with 25%rehab tax credit.
Emilee says LURA is to take care of infra structure but the Mayor wants above ground activity for the
community to see.
The City attorney is reviewing Fagade Improvement and Mural programs.
New business--the building next to the elevator has been discussed to demolish but the question before us is
"should we help/"by giving an incentive,this is one of several buildings in"blight". Also,the silos across
from the Caboose causes problems for Wal-Mart trucks. The City is supposed to take care of weed issues
but don't seem to be enforcing. Fox Lumber wants to move,how can we help
Bob at the Bank is heading the 4`h Ave street repair and storm sewer issue. The cost assessment issue is not
"fair"but individual owners should work out the differences
August 16,2010 is the next meeting.
