5:30 P.M. at City Hall
MEMBERS PRESENT: Chairman Chuck Rodgers Wally Hall
LuAnne Engh Dick Fritzler
OTHERS PRESENT: Cathy Gabrian
• Public Input—None
• Benches—Chuck presented two drawings of the gathering area. Exhibit A uses 8-foot benches in
two rows. Exhibit B has 6-foot benches in three rows. Both exhibits have two benches behind
the podium.
Chuck showed pictures of the Boardwalk Bench, stating the city purchased and placed this same
bench in the small park on East I" Street. The bench comes in several colors and it was decided
to go with the brown. The 6-foot bench runs$273.00 and the 8-foot bench is $323.00. He will
call to verify the price and see what the shipping will run.
Chuck said we need to keep the cost under$5,000.00 or we will have to get two quotes.
Previously, the American Legion told the committee to keep them in mind and they may be able
to help with benches.
There was discussion about making the best use of the area. It was the consensus of the
committee to go with Exhibit A, but add a third row of benches later.
The benches will be bolted down and it was questioned who would install them. Chuck did not
think the city crew would be able to do it. It was suggested that maybe we could have a boy scout
troop or the players from the American Legion Baseball team help.
Motion by LuAnne, seconded by Dick to order the 8-foot benches per Exhibit A, with a total cost
not to exceed $5,000.00. Motion carried.
Motion by LuAnne, seconded by Wally to order the benches in the brown color. Motion carried.
Chuck has been working on the sprinkler system to see if we can get some money allocated for it.
LuAnne asked if we could review the funding for the cemetery so we know what we have to work
with. Chuck will look at the budget and review it at the next meeting.
Meeting adjoured at 6:15 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
