This is a letter to petition the city to vacate the 20' alley between Laurmac Subdivion lot#1 and
Ward Subdivision Lot#13. TenderNest was developed on Lot#11 of Ward Subdivision about
12 years ago and at that time the property was fenced to the middle of this alley, based on a
discussion with Larry McCann indicating that the alley had been vacated.
Roberta Clincher who then owned Laurmac Subdivision Lots # 1-5,took the other 10 feet, built a
planter and used that property. Since that time we have purchased the Laurmac'lots and would
like to add to our existing building but the expansion would cross into this alley.
I have visited with James the City Planner, Gary the building code enforcement and there has
been confusion about this issue for a long time. We-would like to petition to vacate the alley so
we can complete our expansion.
This will create new jobs in Laurel-and this alley appears to be unusable for any other purpose.
We have already granted a utility easement on the west side of Laurmac lot#5 for future city
proiects.
Please let me know the proper steps that need to be taken to move this proposal forward. Again,
we appreciate your consideration and look forward to being able-to further invest in the city of
Laurel. -
