A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,
was held in the Council Chambers and called to order by Mayor Larry D.
Herman, at 7:00 p.m., on August 18, 1981.

CORRESPONDENCE: Letter from D. A. Davidson and Company regarding an
incorrect publication date for SID 106 in Resolution No. 1857 and sending
a transcript to Board of Investments instead of Board of Land Commissioners
in Resolution No. 1858.

the Laurel Outlook, a newspaper published and circulated in the City of
Laurel, Yellowstone County, Montana, in the regular issues thereof on
July 29, 1981; August 5, 1981; August 12, 1981, a~-~-~-~9~."
Motion seconded by Alderman Metzger. Carried.
CORRECTING RESOLUTION.NO. 1855 (nunc pro tune as of 7/21/81):
Mot~s to correct Resolution ~-~ 1-~58 nunc pro tunc
by changing the State Board of Land Commissioners to State Board of Invest-
ments, to read as follows:
"That bonds in an amount not to exceed $22~,397.2B be issued by said
Special Improvement District No. 106; that the Clerk give notice of the sale
thereof, by publishing the same once a week for four oonsecutive weeks
immediately preceding the date of the sale in the Laurel Outlook, a news-
paper of general circulation printed in the City of Laurel, Yellowstone
County, Montana, and that the City Clerk at least fifteen (15) days before
the date fixed for the sale of such bonds, send a copy of such published
notice to the Seeretary of State Board of ~&~-~~ Investments
and shall furnish to the said Seeretary a transeript of proceedings had
for the issuance of bonds and such other information relating thereto, as
the Secretary may find necessary."
Motion seconded by Alderman Brennan. Carried.

Motion by Alderman Metzger to approve the City Clerk's and City
Treasurer's Financial Statements as presented, seconded by Alderman
Burns. Carried.
AMENDED PLAT OF BLOCKS 1 & 2, MOGAN SUBDIVISION: The Laurel-Yellowstone
City~County Planning Board recommends to the Laurel City Council that the
petition for an amended plat of Blocks 1 & 2, Mogan Subdivision, be con-
ditionally approved for the following reasons:
1) addresses are needed;
2} need access easements on the front of the lots near the streets;
B) address utilities;
4} Subdivision Improvement Agreement needs to include garbage cans
being provided by the developer;
5} when will sidewalks be constructed;
6} what to do about the present buildings;
7} extra water and sewer lines need to be addressed (install ali at
once instead of one at a time};
8} satisfy adjacent property owners and city regarding drainage.
There has been one protest received which was from Edward J. LaPrath.
John MacMartin commented that the drainage situation was the issue
that Ed LaPrath raised and it was felt that it was best, after discussion
by the Planning Board~ that it be ~et. up to be worked out to the satis-
faction of Ed and the City Engineer, by the developer's engineer.
Leon Howe~ the developer's engineer, commented that he was represent-
ing Paul Mogan here tonight~ and that t~ey are in concurrence with the
recommendations and that we will meet all of those conditions and to work
out the drainage problem with Ed LaPrath and the City Engineer.
RESOLUTION NO. 1879
CONDITIONALLY APPROVING THE PLAT AMENDING BLOCKS ONE
Il) AND TWO (2), MOGAN SUBDIVISION, LAUREL, YELLOWSTONE
COUNTY, MONTANA.
Motio.n by .Alderman. Fi.n.k. to conditionally approve the amended plat
as recommended by the Laurel-Yellowstone City-County Planning Board and
to adopt Resolution No. 1879, seconded by Alderman Brennan. Carried.

Discussion.
The City of Powell~ Wyoming, wants to buy our current 70 LPM printer
for $4,225.00. NCR would allow only $500.00 trade-in on a new one.

By selling the old printer to the City of Powell, the net cost
of the new 200 LPM printer will be $7,963.50.
It was mentioned that the new printer should not be ordered until
we get some assurance from Powell that they will buy our old one.
Motion by Alderman Meyers to accept the bid from NCR in the amount
of $12,188.50, seconded by Alderman Metzger. Carried.
There being no further business to come before the Council at this
time, the meeting was adjourned at~0 p.m.
Approved by the Mayor and passed by the City Council of the City
of Laurel, Montana, this 1st day of September, 1981.
