BUDGET/FINANCE COMMITTEE
JUNE 8, 2010 5:30 P.M.
COUNCIL CONFERENCE ROOM

Mark Mace called the regular meeting of the Budget/Finance Committee to order. There
was no public in attendance.
The minutes of the May 18, 2010 meeting were presented and approved via motion by
Chuck, seconded by Doug, and passed unanimously.
May claims totaling $987,290.25 were presented and approved via motion by Chuck,
seconded by Doug, and passed unanimously.
There were no purchase requisitions to review.
The Comp /OT reports were reviewed for PPE 5/21/10.
The Payroll Register for PPE 5/21/10 totaling $158,746.58 was reviewed by the committee.
Motion by Doug, seconded by Chuck to recommend council approval of the payroll register.
Motion passed unanimously.
Clerk/Treasurer's Comments:
Budget process: Mayor Olson said packets are being made for the department heads. Bill
will schedule meetings to start reviewing the budget.
Mayor's Comments:
TIFD update: Mayor Olson said work is proceeding on the movie house and they have not
come to the city about funding. He will meet with Shirley McDermott this week. Bill and
James met with a person at the bank about the TIFD regarding payments, reporting and when
the payments will come.
Mayor Olson informed the committee that Bill found a former city clerk from Livingston
who may be willing to fill the Clerk/Treasurer's position on an interim basis. He and Bill
will meet with her on Thursday. She indicated interest in the position full time and will have
to go through the application process.
The mayor said he received a call from Kori Pray and she declined the offer to fill the
Clerk/Treasurer's position. We are re- advertising the position with a deadline of June 18th.

Chief Administrative Officer Comments:
West Main Sidewalk SID & overlay: Bill said there is no firm date but it will be July before
the project starts. In regard to Mark's question about the SID, Bill said it is as firm as it can
be with a couple of properties in question. The council will vote on the SID tonight.
Wastewater Plant Upgrade report: Bill said much of the head works and most of the water
plant is completed. Some painting is still being done. There have been some problems with
the lift stations due to groundwater. A lot of the contractor's equipment is parked by a 6 -plex
and causing problems for the neighborhood.
Police Labor Union: Bill said they have met a few times and it may go to mediation.
Completion of East Main project: This project is still not done and may be awhile.
Riverside Sand and Gravel has been contracted by MDT to reconstruct portions of East Main
Street and First Avenue South. At this time it is unknown who is responsible for the payment
of the reconstruction.
Other: Nothing to report.
The next regular Budget/Finance meeting will be Tuesday, June 15 at 5:30 p.m.
The meeting adjourned at 5:56 p.m.
