Kenneth Olson, Jr., Mayor 1 ..._.
City of Laurel CITY OF LAUREL
115 West First St.
Laurel, MT 59044
Dear Mayor Olson,
I am writing to update you about the request for water project funding your community
submitted to Senator Tester. Jon appreciates of the needs of each community in Montana and
thanks you for bringing this worthwhile project forward for consideration.
Each year we receive many more requests for funding than the federal budget has room
to fund. However, as a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Senator Tester will
fight to ensure that Montana gets its fair share of funding for critical water projects. Water
projects for Montana's rural communities are funded through a special initiative, known as the
Rural Montana Water Projects program. Jon will do all that he can to ensure that this project is
well- funded so that we can improve water quality in communities all over Montana. Clean water
is a vital part of keeping Montana's rural communities strong, and he will work to make sure as
many small water projects as possible are funded this year.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have further questions.
Sincerely,
W Cjvi
