Minutes for April 19, 2010 approved as presented
Shirley met with Mayor questioning whether City Council members read the minute we provided for them. Only
said they received them, didn't know if they were read. Told him we were looking for the following: 1)
Infrastructure and financial report for Urban Renewal Agency 2) would like to have cost of East Main street
project presented, Markegard should have invoice, Riverside did job 3)CETEP — transportation money will go into
Urban Renewal for sidewalk replacement /repair. Also, what about crosswalks crossing main streets in Laurel? 4)
We will plan to hold a public meeting during our regularly scheduled meeting date 5) we expected James w/
answers, Steve and Chris with presentation and finally 6) most importantly, we will be very hesitant to release
money when we don't get information we want, financials, expenses. We need to know how much money we
have and how much was spent on East Main Street.
Linda says the phone company took down a pole that was in the way of setting the Caboose, now they are waiting
for good weather for layout and digging. The After Hours gathering was very successful. Surveys will be done at
Rock the Block, just a few questions.
The Mayor is satisfied with Aletta Zimmerman as an advisor. The Liquor Store has been sold and the new owners
will be invited to our regular meeting. Dean will ask Chuck Dickerson for City Council to attend our meetings so he
can report back to City Council.
Steve Zeier brought a rough draft of the Work Plan and Implementation for us to read and discuss at next
meeting. City Council has the final approval of money expenditures. Chris is doing the application that will be
generic for use in most cases. City Council will look to the Urban Renewal Agency for direction in many cases
involving business development.
