Board Meeting Minutes
March 25 - Owl Junction
The Meeting was held on March 25th at the Owl )unction. In attendance were: Executive Board
Members: President Linda Fricke', Vice President Mary Herr, Secretary Joanne Flynn and her assistant
Marcia Hafner. Directors: Aletta Zimmerman, James Johnson, Bryan Wood, Mark Cloud, and Tricia
Johnson. Also present were members Becky Dickerson, Michael Herman, Josh Middleton and guest
and Zeta Stamper.
Linda called the meeting to order.
The minutes were approved: moved to approve - Mark, 2nd - Bryan.
The financial report was approved: moved to approve - Bryan, 2nd - Trida.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved to pay - Aletta, 2n - Mark.
Josh Middleton spoke about offering the use of the sports arena for the 4 events. He would like to
finish the run with a lap inside the stadium. He also mentioned that the school would like to open up
the stadium and charge for seating during the fireworks. School rules would have to be followed with
no backpacks or coolers allowed. They also wanted to sell concessions. There was some discussion
about this, because the Chamber charges vendors $350 to sell outside the stadium. If it was just
during the fireworks, it might be OK, but nothing was finalized.
OLD BUSINESS
• Business of the Month E - Blast - Joanne reported that A Haus of Realty would be
next. Joanne would like more businesses to participate. Bryan mentioned that Pow'r
Grip would be having its 20 anniversary in June and they'd like the "spotlight" then.
NEW BUSINESS
• New Members - Live Well Natural Health Clinic.
• Casino Night - We are ready to go. Committees were reviewed. We just need
more people to attend.
• Budget - Joanne will contact the members of the committee and see when they can
meet.
• McAfee - Expires in June, Aletta thought WalMart could renew that for us.
OPEN FORUM
• Political Speakers - Joanne brought up that several political speakers have
discussed speaking at the board meetings. James moved to not allow politicians to
speak at the meetings. Aletta 2 Approved by board.
• Wireless printer - We still need to be hooked up. Mark said he would speak to
Steve Anderson, and Josh M. thought he might have someone.
• Spotlight on Business - A Haus of Realty will be next week.
• Business after Hours - Still looking for a business for April. Possibly Laurel Ford is
interested.
• July 4 parade -Mark asked Josh M. how can we get the band in our parade. Josh
gave him the band director's name.
• EPA regulations - James brought up what he learned regarding new EPA
regulations regarding lead paint. Josh said the school had been to the same
meetings.
