Annual Regional Training
The "Dream Team" of Local Governance and Municipal Risk Management in
Montana is coming to your region!
Who Should Attend: Clerks, Treasurers, Supervisors, City Attorneys, Elected Officials, Mayors, City
Council Persons, and Department Supervisors
Why Should You Attend: To participate in educational sessions with staff of both the Local Government
Center and the MMIA as well as interact with your counterparts from surrounding cities and towns
Where Will The Seminars Be Held: Seminars will be held at various locations around the State
November through February and will run from 8:30.3:30 - FREE OF CHARGE.
Each Training Session will include the Annual Newly Elected Officials Training provided by the
Local Government Center as well as Risk Management and Personnel Issues Training provided by
the MMIA,
Specific Topics to be covered include:
• Doles & Responsibilities of Elected Officials
• Contracts including Risk Transfer and Special Events
• Conducting Meetings and Council Policies & Procedures
• open Meetings and Citizens Right to Participate
• Risk Management and Personnel Management for your municipality
This will not be your typical lecture series. We want to provide you with the tools to serve your
community in the best possible way. We will be able to assist the newer officials as well as the
more seasoned folks that would like to come learn.
Lunch will be provided by MMIA and brought on-site for your convenience.
