There was considerable discussion aboute the rate of rent for the hangers at the airport. Clay Greening felt that ?j?142.50 per. year to the City is too much in view of the amount of income being realised from them. Fe brought out the fact some of the hangers are rented out only two or three months of the year. Guy Stormont pointed out that when the Commission raised the rent to the City from .4,25.00 a year to w42.50 a year it was done to help defray the cost of paving the runway, and since there are still two payments to make to the State on the loan to pave the runway he felt that the rent to the City should remain the same. Since this was the general opinion of the Commission the matter was dropped. It was brought to the attention of the Commission that the fence around the airport is not adequate to keep cattle out. There have been numerous occasions when herds of cattle have gotten into the airport and created 9 hazard and done damage to the runways and taxi strips. The most recent occurance was just a few weeks ago when some cattle got in and one bull daused considerable damage to an airplane by getting under it and scrat- ching it's back on the underside of the airplane. The Airport Manager has estimated the cost of fencing the ai.rrrort at between four and five hundred dollars. It has been felt for years that an adequate fence is essential to the airport and especially so since the new landfill dump is to be located on Airuo.rt property. Joe Nicholas also reported that some of the turf runways are in nedd of work because of damage done by wind and water. A motion was made by Joe Nicholas and seconded by Guy Stormont to ask the City for one mill to fence the eirport and repair and maintain the runways. The motion carried unam:imously. There being no further business to come before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned. HESp tivel? bmitted, Chairman
