ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE FIXING TEE RATES AND CHARGES FOR THE .
,SUPPLY OF WATER AND THE USE AND SERVICE OF THE CITY WATER
SYS = AND PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF SAID RATES AND
CHARGES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL,
MONTANA:
Section 1. That whereas, the said City of Laurel,
Montana has installed a system of main line, water filtration
and pumping plant in order to supply city water, and that it
is necessary that rates be set for the supplying of city
water and the use thereof, the charges and rates therefore,
shall be according to the schedule hereinafter listed;
METER RATES SCHEDULE
First 400 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 1121
Next 2,600 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 50
Next 2,600 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 221
Next 1359000 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 15
In excess of 140,000 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 74
Discount for payment before 10th of month 5
Surcharge for consumer outside of city limits
Charge in excess of metered rates 1.00
For irrigation purposes in excess of first 400
cu. ft. May to September, inclusive .10
Negotiated Contract Rate, Northern Pacific Railway
Company 062/100 gal
Boulevard irrigated by user having meter,
Discount 500 for each 500 square feet, per season
FLAT RATS SCHEDULE
Residential Minimum and Flat Rate $4.50
Discount for payment before 10th of month 5%
Tanks portable, each time filled 1.00
Fire Hydrant 8ental, etch per month 1.50
A flush tank charge on sewage system, per month 1.50
Sprinkling ; lawns, etc., each 500 square feet,
per season .25
The above rates shall be computed by the Water Commissioner
and the application and collection of the same shall be under
his juriddiction, and direction.

All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
An urgency and emergency for this ordinance is hereby
declared to and does exist and the same shall take effect and
be in force from and after its passage.
Approved and signed by the Mayor of the City of Laurel,
Montana, this 17th day of May, 1955•
