December 23, 1985
A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana, was
held in the Council Chambers and called to order by MaYor Albert Ehrlick at
5:10 p.m., on Monday, December 23, 1985.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Marvin Carter
Mel Krug
Bill Brennan
COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: Lonnie Kellogg
Donald Meyers
Rob Harris
Bob Gauthier
Chuck Dickerson
REPRESENTING VOLK CONSTRUCTION: Denzel Davis, Treasurer
Barry Curtis, Vice President
This meeting was called for the specific purpose of discussing HKM~s response
to the August 22nd request for an adjustment in contract price and time by
Volk Construction.
Discussion. Jim Kaercher from HKM stated there are some claims they view
as justifiable. #6 and #7 of the engineer's response.
Motion by Alderman Brennan to reject all claims except #6 time delay
and #7 - broken sludge mixing paddle in HKM's response to the August 22nd
request for an adjustment in contract price and time by Volk Construction,
subject to our receipt of further documentation from Volk to substantiate
#6 and #7, seconded by Alderman Krug. Motion carried 6--0.
jim Kaercher recommended that the City send a letter to the contractor
stating their decision and to transmit ~p~3gf HKM's response.
Motion by Alderman Krug to transmit the documentation and a letter
regarding the Council's action to Votk, secdnded by Alderman Harris.
Motion carried 6--0.
Meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
