MAYOR'S COMMENTS: Mayor Gauthier stated that the City has a real expensive problem with weeds. We are having to cut the weeds on property where the owners are not doing it, and this expense is then billed to the owners. Due to lack of payment on their part, this expense then goes on the taxes and the city does not receive payment for three years. The Mayor stated that this is happening most often by developers or on repossessed homes which are now in the hands of financial institutions. He stated they would rather the City cut the weeds than to employ a private individual because the City is cheaper. This matter will be put on the agenda for the next Council meeting. There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, the meeting was adjourned at 8:50 p.m. //j~j Sharon L.
