Many public facilities have received funding through the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and are scheduled to begin construction shortly. This letter
serves as axeminder that any construction or modification ofa public water supply or
public wastewater system requires review and approval by the Department nior to
be innin construction. This is the case regardless of the funding source.
The Department is aware that some projects funded by ARRA have a very short window
in which to commence construction so'we will try to review and approve these projects as
quickly as possible. Plan review requirements and Design Standards can be found at:
