AN ORDINANCE 1 YIDINO FOR THE RECEIVING OF BIDS AND THE LETTING
OF A CONTRACT FOR Tn CONSTRUCTION OF INPROVMIENTS IN SPECIAL
IMPROVBIMT LIGHTING DISTRICT NO, 1.
BN IT ORDATSM BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL:
Section 19 That at 7 tW o'clock P,, Y. on Tuesday the
IM day of Deoambero 1494, the City Co it of the City of Laurel
will ""i" seslaed bl" for the com" tion of improvements in
ipeeial Improvement Lighting Diartriet Noy, 1, aaeording to the
plans and specifications thereof an file and of reeord in the office
of the City Clerk and City Engineer of the City of Laurel, Montana;
said Improvements to consist of the erection of fifty-one (51) posts
cad the Installatien and laying of Fonda: Duraseal, ainglo con-
ductor,, xs ergromd cable or the equal goof, according to the
plans and specifications adopted arA approved by the City C ouna i l .
Said improvements to be fully eampletesd on or before June 1st, 1991.
Seetiod 2,, That the City Co Mil shah,, and does, hereby
reserve the risht. to reject any and all bids,
Section S. That the City Clerk is bereby authorised and
directed to publish notice inviting sealed bids, stating the time
ebAm and the place where amid bids will be recolved by the City
Coil. Such publication to be made in the Laurel Outlook, a
meekly newspaper published; and 01rouleted In the City of Laurel,
in the regular issues thereof on the 27th day of November and the
#th and Uth days of Decembers, 1940.
Section d. If the owwrs at three-fourtha (3/4) of the
frontage of lots and lands within said District liable to be
assessed,, or their agontRs p fail to elect to take such work and
eater into a written oontraot to do the whole work at a price at
leaet five per emb (6%) less than the price at which the same
shall be awarded, within throe (3) days after the awarding of said
contrast to successful bidder as provided by Section 5233 of the
Reprised Codes of Montana,, 1=, then sweessful bidder shall

in duplicate and In accordance with the provisions with this

Section S. That upon the execution and delivery of said
oontract to either the s ell contractor or contracting owners,
he or they shall giver to the City of Laurel a bond in the am of
not loss than twenty-five, per 94at (tom) of the total estimated
covet of the Igpmveiments to be made, same to be approved by the
mayor and City Caumll, condition to the effect that such con-
tractor or contracting cw tors shah well and trahy perform all the
terms and conditions of said sontract and shs?l,l says the, City of
Laurel harmless from negligsnoo or viIfal acts of said contractor
our oontraoting armors or his or their agents, aorvants, represon-
tatives, employees or sn'f ontraotars in performing the terms and
conditions of said coAtrast and in making said improvements. The
