COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Marshall Donna Kilpatrick Chuck Rodgers L.D. Collins Chuck Dickerson Bob Graham Bruce Teeters Norman Orr COUNCIL MEMBERS ABSENT: None The bids were opened at the May 2, 1989 regular council meeting and referred to the 9-1-1 Advisory Committee for a recommendation. The Mayor and City Council received a letter dated May 18th from Cal Cumin, 9-1-1 Coordinator, giving the committee's recommendation. Cal reported that Dictaphone, Stratford, CT, came in with a bid of $ 17,574.90, Motorola Communications had a bid of $ 16,818.00 and Capital Business Systems had a bid of $ 18,944.00. Cai said each bid includes insta-call and a backup battery as optional equipment. Capital Business Systems' bid was eliminated because it was the high bid. Cal said the difference between the other two companies is $ 756.00 but they recommend going with Dictaphone because they give a duo recording system that will allow it to be operated 24 hours a day per bid specifications. This will allow the operation of the system even if one deck is down or being cleaned. Cal said the committee feels it is in the best interest of the city to purchase the duo system. Alan Crowe, Police Chief, stated he feels that by going with Dictaphone they will be getting twice the unit because of the duo system which would eliminate any down time. Motion by Alderman Collins to accept the committee's recommendation to purchase the logging tape recorder and reproducer with optional equipment from Dictaphone in the amount of $ 17,574.40, seconded by Alderman Dickerson. Motion carried 8--0. The meeting was adjourned at 7:06 p,mo Donald L.
