January 3, 1989
A regular meeting of the Clty Council of the City of Laurel,
Montana, was held in the Council Chambers and called to order
by Mayor Bob Gauthier at 7:00 p.m., on January 3, 1989.

MUNICIPAL CODE, APPLICATION FOR PERMIT

Motion by Alderman Diekerson to close the

Motion by Alderman Diekerson that Ordinance No. 946 (second
readingl be passed and adopted, seconded by Alderman Collins.
A roll call vote was taken and all Aldermen present voted "Yes".
Motion carried 6--0.
MOVING PERMIT FEE
A Resolution was presented to establish a fee of $ 25.00 for
a permit to move, remove, or relocate any building or structure
in the City of Laurel.

Motion by Alderman Dickerson that REsolution No. 2375
be passed and adopted, seconded by Alderman Orr. Motion carried

Motion by Alderman Dickerson to close the public hearing,
seconded by Alderman Orr. Motion carried 6--0.
Motion by Alderman Dickerson that Ordinance No. 947 (second
reading) be passed and adopted, seconded by Alderman Orr. A
roll call vote was taken and all Aldermen present voted "Yes".
Motion carried 6--0.
HANDICAPPED PARKING:

Discussion followed regarding handicap parking at the FAP Complex.
DIRECTIVE ON PURCHASES:
The Mayor reviewed and discussed his Directive on new requirements
for purchases.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
--Budget/Finance Committee minutes of December 20, 1988 were
presented and reviewed.
Motion by Alderwoman Kilpatrick to e~ter the Budget/Finance
Committee minutes of December 20, 1988 into the record, seconded
by Alderman Collins. Motion carried 6--0.
--Budget/Finance Committee minutes of January 3, 1988 were presented
and reviewed.
Motion by Alderwoman Kilpatrick to enter the Budget/Finance
Committee minutes of January 3, 1988 into the record, seconded
by Alderman Teeters. Motion carried 6--0.
--City Council Committee of the Whole minutes of December 20, 1988
were presented.
Motion by Alderman Collins to enter the City Council
Committee of the Whole minutes of December 20, 1988 into the
record, seconded by Alderman Orr. Motion carried 6--0.
COMMENTS FROM THE AUDIENCE:
A question was asked the Mayor if there was any contingency
when he is out of town for another person to handle emergencies.
He responded by saying that the President of the Council is
authorized to handle emergencies when he is out of town.

MAYOR!S COMMENTS:
Appointment to the Ambulance
The Mayor appointed Andrea J.
effective January 3, 1989.
Reserve.
Wagner to the Ambulance Reserve,
Motion by Alderman Dickerson to confirm the Mayor's
appointment of Andrea J. Wagner to the Ambulance Reserves, effective
January 3, 1989, seconded by Alderman Teeters. Motion carried
6--0.
Ambulanc~ Atte~dan~
The Mayor hired Ron Graves and Dorene Mercier as Ambulance EMT
Attendants, effective January 3, 1989.
Motion by Alderman Collins to confirm the Mayor's hiring
of Ron Graves and Dorene Mercier as Ambulance EMT Attendants
effective January 3, 1989, seconded by Alderman Teeters. Motion
carried 6--0.
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT'S:
The Mayor appointed Alderman Teeters to the Budget/Finance
Committee and Richard Barnhardt to the Public Utilities and
City License Committees.
Motion by Alderman Orr to confirm the Mayor's appointment
of Alderman Teeters to the Budget/Finance Committee and Richard
Barnhardt to the Public Utilities and City License Committees,
seconded by Alderwoman Kilpatrick. Motion carried 6--0.
The Mayor informed everyone that he will be out of town all
next week, Monday through Friday.
There being no further business to come before the Council at
this time the meeting was adjourned at 7:28 p.m.
