ORDINANCE NO. 520
ORDINANCE NO. 520 BEING AN ORDINANCE CREATING A STREET
SPRINKLING DISTRICT, A METHOD OF DOING SA_L') WORK AND FOR THE PAYING
OF THE SAME.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA;
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,
deems it necessary and to the best interests of the inhabitants of
the City of Laurel, that a yearly program be created for the apply-
ing of oil, water, and any other dust palliative, so that the
inhabitants will be protected from dust, and in addition, will have
improved streets.
AND, WHEREAS, the different sections of the City of Laurel
shall require different types of work in regard thereto, the City
Engineer of the City of Laurel, Montana, is hereby designated as the
officer in charge of said program, with discretion, to apply such
type of oil, water, or other dust palliative, that in his opinion
will be most suited for that section of town.
AND, WHEREAS, it is deemed by the City Council of the
'City of Laurel, that all of the inhabitants will profit equally from
said program.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ordained that a Street Sprink-
ling system encompassing the entire corporate limits of the City of
Laurel, be created by Special Resolution, and that the cost of said
program be assessed against each and every lot in said City in the
amount of $28.00 per lot, and that such assessment be made by Special
Resolution, as provided by law.
IT IS FURTHER ORDAINED, that an emergency and urgency does
exist, and that this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage thereof.
Passed and approved this Sixth day of May, 195e. Passed
by the C=ity Council and approved by the Mayor-.
