ORDINANCE NO, 516
BEING AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE POSSESSION
OF INTOXICATING LIQUOR BY PERSONS NOT HAVING
REACHED THE AGE OF TWENTY-ONE, AND DECLARING
THE PRESENCE OF AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA:
Section 1: No person under the age of twenty-one (21)
years shall purchase any intoxicating liquor, beer or wine.
No person shall purchase for a person under the age of twenty-
one (21) years any intoxicating liquor, beer or wine.
Section 2: No person who shall not have reached the
age of twenty-one (21) years shall have in his or b6r°poss-
ession any intoxicating liquor, beer or wine.
Section 3: Any person violating any of the provisions
of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall
be punishable by a fine of not less than Ten Dollars ($10),
nor more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300), or by imprisonment
for not more than three (3) months or by both such fine and
imprisonment.
Section 4: Nothing wherein contained shall prohibit
the furnishing of intoxicating liquors to any person under
the age of twenty-one (21) years upon any physicians' prescrip-
tion where authorized by law, nor by the furnishing of wine
for sacramental purposes.
Section 5: This Ordinance being an Ordinance that is
immediately necessary for the preservation of peace, health
and safety of the public is therefore an emergency Ordinance
and shall be in full force and effect from and after the date
of its passage and approval.
Passed by the City Council and approved by the Mayor this
4th day of February, 1958.
