HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 546 ORDINANCE NO. 546 BEING AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE FOLLOWING OF FIRE TRUCKS, CONGREGATING AT THE SCENE OF A FIRE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY THEREFOR. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAUREL, MONTANA: Sectionl. That no person shall follow or come within three hundred (300) feet of any vehicle, any fire engine, truck or apparatus of the City of Laurel, while on an emergency run or while the siren of the same is sounded. Section 2. That no persons shall congregate, or park their vehicles within two (2) square blocks of the scene of any fire or disaster on which emergency vehicles are working. Section 3. Any fireman or police officer, upon the scene of any fire or disaster, shall have the authority to direct traffic and to require persons and vehicles to remove themselves from the scene of said fire or disaster. Section 4. Any person violating the terms of this ordinance shall be guilty of misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof, shall be fined a minimum amount of Five and no/100 Dollars ($5.00) to a maximum amount of Fifty and no/100 Dollars ($50.00). Section 5. Any ordinances or portions thereof, in conflict with this ordinance, are hereby repealed. Section 6. An. emergency and urgency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage. Passed and approved this 16th day of February, 1960.
