BEING AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE RATES CHARGED FOR USE OF THE
SEWER SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF LAUREL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF LAUREL:
SECTION 1. That commencing with the 1st day of January, 1961, all
persons, firms, corporations, or legal entity at all, using or benefiting from the
sewer system of the City of Laurel, shall pay a charge to be included upon their
monthly water bill as follows:
a. The sum of $2.10 for each and every month, commencing
with the month of January, 1961.
b. That any person receiving sewer service from the City of
Laurel, but not receiving water service, shall pay an annual
rate for sewer service of $30.00 per year for every tap
or connection upon the sewer system, to be billed annually,
in advance, for each year.
SECTION 2. No person, firm, corporation or legal entity charged
for sewer service shall be allowed to make part payment, but that each and every
bill, as presented, must be paid in full with the water bill.
SECTION 3. Every person, firm, corporation or legal entity failing
to pay the sewer charge as requested in this Ordinance and being delinquent thereof
for a space of thirty (30) days shall be subject to be removed from service by
said sewer and any connection made by such individual to the sewer service may
be discontinued and removed therefrom upon order of the City Council.
SECTION 4. It is hereby declared that an emergency is declared to
exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
passage.
Passed and approved this 20th day of December, 1960, by the City
Council of the City of Laurel.
