HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance No. 5540 • ORDINANCE NO, 554 BEING AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THE TAKING OF A PHYSICAL EXAMINATION AND THE. PASSING THEREOF BY ALL NEW EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF LAUREL. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF LAUREL: SECTION 1. That upon and after the effective date of this. Ordinance, it shall be mandatory for each new prospective employee of the labor force of the City of Laurel to take and pass a physical examination; the standards of such physical examination to be set by the City Council, as they from time to time may so desire. The expense of such examination to be borne by the City. SECTION 2. All prospective employees of the labor force Sy shall be required to answer. any questions pertinent to qualifications, past employment or physical status, as required by the City, and any employee who shall falsely answer any pertinent question pertaining thereto shall be subject to immediate discharge, if subsequently hired. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall not be construed so as to include temporary employees, supervisory or professional employees. However, before any temporary employee can become a permanent employee of the City, such. temporary employee must take and pass the physical examination. here required. SECTION 4.
