We have two new prospects for the Adopt-A-Spot program; Head Start for North Park and 6th
Ave. North and Lisa & Kevin Brandt on Central between 32'd and Shiloh. Signs now cost
$42.00 and posts are $14.50. There was discussion on if Bright n' Beautiful would help with
the cost if a group couldn't afford it. It was decided that Carolyn will bring individual cases to
the board and B n'B may pay if approved by the board. Carolyn will send the list of our present
Adopt-A-Spot groups to board members and put on a map on the Web.
Carolyn has contacted Byron Whitney, Diana's son-in-law, about getting our Web page up and
running. He will do this for us. The board agreed to reimburse him for the cost. Jody Ballou
who manages the Web page for Symphony in the Park, will manage our site.
Jim Reno contacted Court Services and they do carry liability insurance that would cover
youths on probation working on graffiti removal. Since our insurance will not cover, it was
decided that we would not participate further.
The DBA's Earth Day Event will be on April 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Good Earth
Market. Bright n' Beautiful will have a table there and will give out trash bags for anyone
signing up for the Great American; hand out the coupons and the pocket ashtrays. Chuck said
he would come about 10:00 a.m. and help Carolyn with the set-up. Helen will come at 11:30.
Plans for the Great American Cleanup are in place. The National Guard will supply at least one
truck, Chip will deliver the bags and the recycling bin, Ken Behling will have the trash bins and
our garbage cans set up, the Vietnam Vets are handling the BBQ, Party Solutions will set up the
canopy, Jon Wittman with EXXON will deliver the tables and chairs, Family Services will
collect the clothing and small household items, Expert Tires will collect the tires. The radio
PSA's have been recorded. The GAC is on the Gazette's Community Calendar and their Web
page and also on the United Way Web page. Post cards have been mailed to all our Adopt-A-
Spot groups and letters have been sent to all schools and other groups. Carolyn will do noon
news interviews on Channel KTVQ on the 16th and KULR on the 20t`. Jerry Miller, Helen,
Chuck, Peggie and Diana & Warren Rogers will help out at Senior High parking lot.
