Meeting called to order with the following.members present:
John Hawley Smith, President (City Rep.)

Representative from County Commissioner's Office
Also present:
Cal Cumin, Cumin Associates, Billings
Minutes of previous meeting approved as sent out. Bill for Public
Works Department in the amount of $400 for Administrative Services
in January and February approved.
PARKING ORDINANCE Deletes change of occupancy requirement for off-
street parking. Discussion of encouraging downtown business. Motion
by Gerald Shay to recommend approval of proposed ordinance, seconded
by Marvin Carter. Passed unanimously.
PROPOSED WATER SERVICE AREA: City of Laurel is doing a study of
water service area via HKM Associates..
NUTTING DRAIN: What has happened to re-establishment of the Nutting
rain? Cal will look into the matter.
Representative from Jen--Stan Cement wanted to know about putting in
a cement plant in the. Mossmain'Indust.rial Park. It is.out of our
zoning jurisdiction.

At a meeting of the Laurel - Yellowstone City - County Planning
Board, after discussion being held, the Board recommends to
the Laurel City Council passage of an ordinance to amend
Section 17.76.010A to delete change of occupancy requirement
for off - street parking of the Laurel Municipal Code.
ORDINANCE NO.
AMENDING SECTION 17.76.O10A TO DELETE CHANGE OF
OCCUPANCY REQUIREMENT FOR OFF- STREET PARKING, OF
THE LAUREL MUNICIPAL CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Laurel that
Section 17.76.O10A of the Laurel Municipal Code be amended as
follows:
Section 17.76.010 Requirements. There shall be provided
at the time of erection of any building or structure minimum
off - street parking accommodations meeting the provisions of
this chapter.
A. Location - off - street parking facilities shall be located
as hereinafter specified. Where a distance is specified,
such distance shall be in walking distance measured from
the nearest point of parking facility to the nearest
point of the lot that such facility is required to serve.
The off - street parking shall not be located across a major
or minor arterial or collector street except at an inter-
section with a traffic control device directly between
the two properties on a major arterial.
Off- street parking rules remain the same on the rest of Al
through 5 and B through M.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council on
March 5, 1985, by Alderman
PASSED and APPROVED by the Laurel City Council on March 19,
1985. This ordinance shall become effective 30 days from passage.
