Members of the Laurel Garden Club requested needed repairs at
Fireman's Park including:
1. repair on the water turn off box.
2. the underground watering pipe needs to be moved about 3' into the
park.
3. fill dirt is needed in the east end of the park where the picnic
table was removed.
4. transients are a problem.Since the table was moved, they are
going further into the park to get to the existing picnic tables.
5, the club will prune some trees in Fireman's Park. They will also
replace two trees in Thomson Park north of the shelter where two trees
ve died. The club will pay for the needed pipe to extend the watering
stem into Fireman's park. The requests will be made as time and funds
allow. We will study the transient problem and try to come up with a
solution.
Howard Thom would like to seal the beams and brick at the shelter. It
will take about $150 to purchase the sealer. The city can pay for the
sealer; volunteers will apply the seal. Work will be done in mid May and
early June.
The Laurel Herbstfest is requesting a change in the Bierstube to
allow for minors to dance. Because the representative from the police
department was unable to attend the meeting, a joint meeting of the park
committee, police reserve and Herbstfest will be scheduled.
Cindy Chapple regeusted the use of the Baseball complex on-
6q=t+-Eighth for practice for her girls' softball team. Permission was granted
with the stipulation Mrs. Chapple work with the Laurel Girl's Softball
Assn. in scheduling, etc.
JoAnn Fox, representing the Christmas to Remember, requested the use
of Fireman's Park for the Festival in the Park, Sept. 23, 1994. Because
the festival is growing each year, Ms. Fox requested that the entire
park be reserved for use by the Festival that day. The committee
allowed the request.
0i- A request to install at storage shed between the two Little League
elds was allowed. The storage unit is one that will be purchase locally
