PARK COMMITTEE
JUNE 23. 1994
5:00 P.M. to 5:35 p,m.
Attending: Bill Brennan, Gay Easton. FmPlie Eaton, Dave
Michael, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman.
Others: Debi Frickel representing the Road Runners 4H club
Eme.l ie moved. Bill seconded that we allow the
Road Runners 4H club to use Fireman's Park on SatrrrOay, July
30 for a. carnival-type game area ana a Petting zoo- Motion
carried.
Gay suggested that we put redwood along the ragged edge
of the fence at the swimming pool to insure that some child
does not injure a foot.
The pool is in the process of being readied for the
opening day which is hopefully Saturday or Sunday.
The free swimming and swimming lesson program for low
income families was discussed and t.hF committee recommends
that the program remain in force for the time being.
Gay reported that a state forresher is studying tare
problem with the ash trees in Laurel and will prepare a
report concerning what can be done or if a. replacement.
program is needed. He also discussed the problem that.
exists at the South Pond area which is in need of a,
watering system. Perhaps a grant grogram can he located to
provide the needed funds for installing such a system. Gay
will share the information with the committee when he
receives it.
