July 28, 1.991
5 P.M. to 5:26 p.rn.
ATTENDING: Gay Easton, Lonnie Kellogg, Dave Michael, Rill Brennan,
Donna Kilpatrick, chairman
OTI- RS: Steven Aronson and David Lavil. of 117c Laurel American Legion
Baseball Organization
Steve and Dave attended the meeting to request that a harrier be placed at
the corner of the cement near the concession stand in order to prevent the water from the
infield from draining into the concession stand area and it would doubly serve as a base for
a canopy-type coveting over the bleachers. We approved this proposal in the past but it
has not been completed. Volunteer from the group would assist u1 placing the lairds for
the barrier.
In addition, they would like several sprinklers repaired; permission to lock
the gates at the field during the olf season time to prevent people from randomally
crossisng the fields; and 5 or 6 loads of sand for the infield. No action was taken pending
the city's ability to participate.
Gay moved, Bill seconded that we approve a request of the Laurel Rod and
Gun Club to sponsor a Kid's Fishing Derby, Aug.6 at the South Pond. The club has
sponsored such a derby in the past year or two.
Marie Herman requested a key to the baby pool, aiier the pool closes for
the season, to permit her to continue watering the flowers she planted near the Thomson
Memorial in Thomson Park.
The meeting adjourned at 5:26 p.m.
Respectively submitted,
Donna G. Kilpatrick
