JoAnn, representing the Laurel Federated Woman's Club,
attended the meeting to request permission to construct a
Gazeebo in Fireman's Park on the west side of the log
cabin. Exact plans for the Gazeebo will be presented to
the city at a later date. Gay suggested considering the
structure be placed on skids to allow for movement around
the park. The committee agreed the group could proceed
with the plan with a request that the Fire Department and
the city engineer be contacted in regard to the
construction and the area in which it should best be placed
the park.
Jim Flisrand is preparing a city procedure manual that
will contain all the basic procedures for a given
department. The park committee will have an input into the
manual concerning various procedures that deal with the
park, the pool and pool personnel, etc.
