HomeMy WebLinkAboutPark Committee Minutes 10.27.1994PARK COMMITTEE MEETING OCTOBER 27. 1994 Attending: Gay Easton, Lonnie Kellogg, Jim Flisrand, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman. Others: JoAnn Fox, representing the Laurel Federated Woman's Club JoAnn, representing the Laurel Federated Woman's Club, attended the meeting to request permission to construct a Gazeebo in Fireman's Park on the west side of the log cabin. Exact plans for the Gazeebo will be presented to the city at a later date. Gay suggested considering the structure be placed on skids to allow for movement around the park. The committee agreed the group could proceed with the plan with a request that the Fire Department and the city engineer be contacted in regard to the construction and the area in which it should best be placed the park. Jim Flisrand is preparing a city procedure manual that will contain all the basic procedures for a given department. The park committee will have an input into the manual concerning various procedures that deal with the park, the pool and pool personnel, etc. Jim reported some of the dirt park in order to provide safety a equipment and is company. that crews will begin work to escavate under the playground equipment in each place sand there. The project is needed to reas for children as they play on the a suggested mandate from the insurance Crews will begin next week to lay the underground watering system in Fireman's Park. Supplies for the system are budgeted for. Jim will check with Steve Arenson of the Laurel American Baseball team to inquire about repairing the gate on the north end of Athletic Field in preparation for locking the fence. The legion organization has requested the field be locked in order to prevent damage to the field, etc. The meeting adjourned at 5:46 p.m. Respectively submitted, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman
