PARK COMMITTEE
DECEMBER S, 1994
5 P.M. - 5:35 P.M.
ATTENDING: Lonnie Kellogg, Gay Easton, Jim Flisrand, Donna
Kilpatrick, chairman.
Others: Jennifer Draper
Jennifer attended the meeting to request the use of the log cabin
in Fireman's Park for her weekly Brownie meetings. They would like to
meet from 3:30 to 4:30 each Monday beginning Jan. 2, 1995. The
building is currently being used by the retired men's club for card
playing. Gay reported it is in poor repair and questioned if it was
suitable for meetings. We will meet Monday, Dec. 12 to assess the
condition of the building.
Jim reported that crews are placing sand under the various
playground equipment in Thomson Park and would continue that as
long as the weather permits, completing the project in all the parks in
the spring. This was a recommendation of the insurance company.
Jim also reported on the lifeguard certification sessions that are
planned at Rocky Mountain College. Sessions are set for Jan. 3, Feb.
23, and in April. We will place an advertisement in the Laurel Outlook
informing interested lifeguards of the sessions.
Jim is in the process of making policies and regulations for all the
departments including parks. Some updates are needed in the
ordinances concerning park operations and we will be working to
complete that project.
The meeting adjourned at 5:35 p.m.
