Attending: Emelie Eaton, Jim Flisrand, Dave Michael, Donna Kilpatrick, chairman Others: Steve Arneson, American Legion Baseball Team, Carl who--resides at Riverside Park, Cindy Simon Peaks to Prairie Riverside Park, Sunday, April 30 Mark Burnham, 657-8617, 256-3510 contact person. Wishes to use the boat ramp. What police activity is needed? This is the first year the group has told us the date, etc. The committee saw no problem with the Peaks to Prairie organization using the boat ramp to launch the canoe portion of the race. Little League is in need of additional fields. They can use the Baseball. Complex on East Eighth. Dennis 628-8602 was first to request use of that complex for his Little League team. A scheduling of teams is needed as several teams are looking for a field. The need is created because McGillen Field is newly seeded and the grass needs time to get a good start. American Legion Team: Would like Montana Power to mark just where the electrical outlet is in the area of the water connection so they can run a water line out to the infield. Also needs the water turned on so they can check the sprinkler heads for replacement. Sand needed for infield. Dave and Jim will work with the group to allow the installation of the water line. However, caution is needed in turning on the water in the lines too early as a late freeze could create a serious problem and possibly wipe out-the system. - Service road from change house to the concession stand? Second thoughts have been given to this plan and it is a good chance the service road should remain in present area coming in from the northeast and running between the two Little League fields. Still working on this plan. It is thought that too many players, fans, etc, would be in that area between the bath house and the concession stand and a safety problem would be created. Picnic table in Kiwanis Park is badly in need of repair. A gentleman who walks the park each day will be glad to help with the repair. Also Rob Harris said he would provide a fiberglass tub for sand in Kiwanis Park. Crews are working now to 1 repair the tables and Kiwanis Park will be included in that plan. a ?T Fireman's Park: Condition of the buildin g% water damage to bathroom area'? sprinkling system complete? Jim is getting a cost estimate of the needed repairs on the building. The sprinkler system has a few more things to be done before it is completed; but city crews will be working soon to complete that system. Update on Carl's list of improvements: The committee will meet at Riverside Park Thursday, April 6 to assess the needs and try to determine which of the projects can be started. Soccer field--Jane Barnes is interested in using Murray Park soccer field also. Schedule of Baptist Church's soccer program?Jim has the soccer schedule from the Baptist Church and will coordinate the two programs so each can use the soccer field currently set up in Murray Park.. Christmas to Remember is requesting to use Fireman's Park Friday and Saturday, Sept. 22 and 23 for the annual Festival in the Park activities. The committee granted permission for the CTR to use Fireman's Park for the Festival in the Park on Sept. 22 and 23. Clean-up Day is April 29. Clean -up Week is April 24-28. Lifeguards? Any applications received. The advertisement for lifeguards will. be placed in the Laurel Outlook soon. How does pool look for the season? Preliminary inspections indicate the pool weathered well; however, a more complete assessment must be made and Jim said that will be started in the near future. Tennis courts--the high school tennis team is practicing at the Billings Racquet Club because the court in Laurel has been deemed unplayable by the group. However, Jim said the cracks can be repaired and two new nets will be put up. As soon as weather allows, the city crews will begin repairing the cracks. Jim will meet with Mr. Wood of Wood Power Grip in regard to the softball field near his business. The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m. • Respectfully sub fitted, Donna G. Kilpatrick, chairman
