The l 1 new lifeguards have completed the Red (Toss certification class bill. they need CPR training before the instructor at Rocky Mountain (.'ollMm, Gail Nutting, will issue them a Red (Toss lifeguard cerlilicate. The city will provide life CPR for the lifeguards and outer city personnel..11m is working oil setting that training up. ']'here is a problem with the handling of motley at the pool; we will continue to work to devise some workable method. Jim reported that, in a preliminary inspection, the pool seems to have come through the winter well. Work should begin in the middle to the end of May on readying the pool for opening. The pool will open Monday, June 12, weather permitting. Prices For Ille swimming tickets will remain the same as last year: $10 for a book of 20 passes; $1 per individual swim. A child received a broken leg on a swilig when the "S" clamp gave am,ay. The matter has been turned over to the insurance company. Permission was granted by the committee for the CArls Softball Association to place a snowfence in the outfield near the playground equipment in Nutting Park. This was done last year and did not pose a problem. Locks have been placed on the showers in Riverside Park staking it possible for only those people who pay to use the facilities to have a key. Whvn the shower% were just wide open many unauthorized parsons were using the showers and (.1r-ated a cleaning/damage situation. Discussion was held on removing the Vence and the horseshoe pits in Kiwallis Park as it seems they are not used nlullch. Ron will take the proposal to his Kiwanis group for further discussion as they are the group that put the horseshoe pits in. Gail Wisecup and Debbie Ranson have volunteered to paint life concession stand if the city provided the paint. The conuuiftee agreed to that arrangCnleill. Repairs will begin on the tennis courts this week, weather perillit.ling_ .lint has. 49 a material that works on repairing streets that he Fuels can be used successfully on the courts. • It is time to renew the lease with the Little League and the Laurel American Legion baseball team (Laurel Dodgers) for the exclusive use of the concession stand in Thomson Park from the period between May I and September 1, 1995. A copy of the lease is attached. The committee agreed to close the northwest entrance to the tennis courts. Players will have to enter from the northeast or the south entrances to the courts. Jim reported that entrance allowed for several problems that we hope closing it will solve. The meeting adjourned at 6:35 p.m. Respectftdly submitted, (2 (It Donna G/ Kilpatrick chairman • L I 0 AGREEMENT FOR USE OF THOMSON PARK CONCESSION STAND THIS AGREEMENT is made and entered into this 2nd day of May, 1995, by and between the City of Laurel, a municipal corporation of Yellowstone County, Montana ("The City"), of P.O. Box 10, Laurel, Montana, 59044, and the American Legion Baseball Team and Laurel Little League, Inc., of Laurel, Montana, 59044 ("The Tenant"). W I T N E S S E T H: 1. The Tenant shall be allowed the exclusive use of the concession stand located in Thomson Park between the baseball fields, from April 1, 1995, through and including September 1, 1995. During said period, the Tenant shall be entitled to retain all monies earned or raised in the operation of the concession stand. 2. Within sixty (60) days after the ending date of this Agreement, the Tenant shall provide the City with a detailed account of all receipts and disbursements earned or made by the Tenant in the operation of the concession stand. The detailed account shall be delivered to the Laurel. City Clerk. 3. The Tenant shall be responsible for cleaning the grounds surrounding the concession stand. The Tenant shall also be responsible for watering and maintaining all three baseball diamonds located within Thomson Park. The City shall be responsible for mowing the outfield of the Legion/Senior league baseball field only. The Tenant shall be responsible for mowing the infield and foul areas of the Legion/Senior league field, and also for mowing the whole of the other two baseball fields. 4. The Tenant shall completely clean out the concession stand building to the satisfaction of the City, and shall turn over to the City all keys to the building, all within thirty (30) days after termination of this Agreement. 5. The Tenant shall be responsible for immediately notifying the City of all damage or vandalism to the concession stand, either inside or outside. 6. The Tenant shall indemnify and shall hold the City and all of its officers, employees and agents, safe and harmless from and against any costs, expenses, claims or liability, for accident or injury to persons or property, occurring as a result of the acts or omissions of the Tenant or the Tenant's agents, volunteers, employees, or representatives. Further, the Tenant shall be solely responsible for protecting its own agents, volunteers, employees and representatives from and against accident or injury to themselves or their property.
