PARK COMMITTEE
MAY 249 1995
5 P.M. TO 5:40 P.M.
ATTENDING: Bill Brennan, Sue Strand, Dave Michael, Gay
Easton, Lonnie Kellogg, Ron Faught, Dave
Michael, Jim Flisrand,
Donna Kilpatrick, chairman
OTHERS: Angie Thom of the Laurel Garden Club
Angie requested that the water be turned on in Fireman's
Park as the members of the garden club are prepared to plant flowers
on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Dave told her the water had
already been turned on and is ready to use.
We discussed the locked showers at Riverside and decided
the key to the showers would only be dispensed to those people who pay
for services and would not be available to other people. The key must
be returned to the caretaker after use.
Jim moved and Gay seconded that we increase the fees paid
in Riverside Park to $15 per night for services(water and electricity
hookups and use of the showers) and $7.50 per night for camping
(which also would include use of the showers.)
We recommended that the Good Sam Galivanters pay $5
per rig for the convention that is planned in Riverside Park during the
fourth week in September, 1996. They expect 200 rigs at the
convention. Their stay cannot exceed 5 days.
A sign is needed for the tennis courts to prevent
rollerblading, etc on the court surface. We are requesting increased
police attention in that area until the signed message takes affect. The
courts are taking quite a beating from activities there other than tennis.
The pool is in good shape and will be ready for opening
Monday or Tuesday, June 5 or 6, weather permitting. Kyle and Mike
Atkinson are working now. The bottom of the pool came through the
winter in surprisingly good shape.
Work should begin next week on spraying the parks for
weeds.
