JUNE 27, 1996
Attending: Gay Easton, Miles Walton, Bill Brennan, Jim Flisrand,
Dave Michael, Andy Loebe
Donna Kilpatrick, chairman.
Miles moved, Gay seconded that we allow the
American LegionAittle League concession manager to
set up a portable concession stand near the pool
after the Fourth of July as long as the funds continue
to go to the American Legion and Little League.
Motion carried.
Gay moved, Bill seconded that we charge a $10
minimum charge for persons requesting to use electricity in
city parks where electricity is available. Motion
carried. (This motion does not apply to Riverside Park
or the reserved shelter.)
Final plans were reviewed for the city's celebration
on July 4. Things seem to be "go".
Gay will research the ownership of Athletic
Field before the committee establishes regulations.
The committee agreed not to intercede with
the placement of barricades for problems the
American Legion baseball organization is
experiencing with hecklers as they watch the games
from pickup trucks in the parking lot to the west
of the ball field. Police need to be notified.
The committee granted permission for the
Methodist Church to use Russell Park for a picnic
Sunday, July 20.
Permission was granted for the Laurel Baptist
Church to use the pool after regular pool hours,
considering the availability of daylight, on July 16
and 25. Lifeguards have agreed and the church
will pay those salaries.
The meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
