OTHERS PRESENT: Chuck Rodgers Richard Barnhardt
1) Request made by L.D. Collins to tie his auction building into
the railroad sewer at the crew headquarters.
Discussion:
Water line is already tied into the railroad line.
L.D.'s building is sitting on railroad property.
L.D. currently has a septic tank and wishes to take it
out.
Motion by Ron Marshall, seconded by Bob Graham, to approve the
tie in to the railroad crew quarters line. Motion carried.
2) Discussed replacement of meters larger than 1".
Discussion:
Currently property owners are responsible to replace
their own meters if the meter is not operating correctly.
At the time meter needs to be replaced city will need to
assess their needs and select the type of meter allowed.
Some meters will not register low flows making it
important to verify and approve type of meter.
3) John Minch brought up Richard Barnhardt's concern on
additional notice for those that have their water shut off due
to lack of payment.
Discussion:
Mr. Barnhardt feels it would not be an inconvenience to
make a special effort.
Mr. Curry indicated that when the City did notify the
public at their home the crew was subject to verbal
abuse.
Additional discussion on the extra time and cost due to
return trips to the residence.
. Mr. Barnhardt's final statement was he didn't realize the
full impact his request would have made on the City and
he wishes to withdraw his idea of a personal notification
to the public.
Motion by John Minch, seconded by Bob Graham, to leave the
policy as is. Motion carried.
4) Comment about the Public meeting regarding the Water Plant
renovation and water rate increase. The meeting will be
January 18, 1995.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
