Jim Flisrand
OTHERS PRESENT:
Warren Schwenneker
John Minch
Phil Curry
Dave Michael
Edna Schwenneker
A quorum of three (3) or more members being present the
following business was conducted:
First item of business; Jim Flisrand explained to the
committee two options available to the Schwennekers who want
to have sewer service extended to their property at 804 8th
Avenue. Option A, would run from the alley between 7th and
8th Avenue, a distance of two hundred feet. Jim explained that
the elevation difference between these two points is only
marginal. Option B, would run from the Schwenneker property
down 8th Avenue and connect with the sewer at Spruce Grove,
a distance of 190 feet. He indicated that the elevation
difference is much better. Ideally the Schwennekers should
consider extending sewer service further north to the upper
end of their property if they intend to sub-divide. This extra
100 feet would be more economical, at this time, rather than
waiting. Mr. Schwenneker questioned if there is anything that
the City could do in order to absorb the costs of this project.
Jim explained that City ordinances, and past practices, prevented
any City participation in this project. Discussion followed.
Motion by Albert Ehrlick, seconded by Bob Graham, to have the
Schwennekers pay for all costs of the sewer extension to their
property. Motion carried. Jim also mentioned that another
"island" that was within the city, has already connected to
city sewer service. He advised the Schwennekers, that they
should make contact with local contractors for bids. He stated
that their costs should run about $35.00 per foot.
Meeting adjourned at 6:05 P.M.
