PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE
MAY 8, 1995 5:30 P.M.

1) Jeanette presented concerns about Tammy Peters utility bill at
2604 Lackawanna. She paid $77.50 towards her final bill of
$385.92 and is disputing the balance of the final bill. She
has moved again and her present address is unknown.
The committee took no action at this time. The $77.50 was
applied towards the water portion of the bill and the sewer
and garbage will be place on the taxes later this year.
2) Dave presented the problems with the curb box and water meter
at H & R Block . No one from H & R Block was present . We sent
a letter to H & R Block to repair the curb box and they
requested a meeting with the public utilities committee. The
reason the curb box needs to be repaired is to exchange the
water meter which also isn't working. The curb box is not
visible in the sidewalk. It needs to be dug up and repaired
either by H & R Block or the City, as soon as possible. Dave
will pursue the issue. No other action was taken at this
time.
3) Jim Flisrand presented the problems that have been happening
on the private water service line on E. 8th Street. Jim told
the committee the history of the line. and its troubles. He
will write the property owners a letter giving them thirty
days to repair the line or the City will install a valve and
shut the service off until it is repaired.
4) Jim Flisrand asked the committee for input on contractors
compacting trenches in the street when backfilling. Jim will
bring more information for the next committee meeting for the
committee's consideration.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:05 p.m.
