MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Marshall Mel Baker Bob Graham Chuck Dickerson (late) Phil Curry Sharon Herman L. D. Collins Dave Michael OTHERS PRESENT: Lenore Waddell Dan Lowell Clarence Sonstegaard Joe Leckie First item of business; Lenore Waddell appeared before the committee to ask reimbursement of $444.00 for a bill to replace a curb box. A person who rented from Mrs. Waddell had called the city to ask that her service be turned off. City crews had to try twice to turn off the service. Mrs. Waddell was informed by certified letter that she would have to have the curb box replaced. Western Pump dug the area up and found that box in question was an abandoned gas curb box. Subsequent investigation by the city found that the water curb box was located at an adjoining residence. Discussion followed. Motion by Mel Baker, seconded by Dave Michael that the city reimburse Mrs. Waddell for the bill from western Pump. Motion carried. Second item of business; Clarence Sonstegaard who has residential property at 1109 Montana Avenue appeared to ask that he be allowed to pay only for water for lawn irrigation since no one lives there at this time. Motion by Phil Curry, seconded by Sharon Herman to deny Mr. Sonstegaard's request. Motion carried. 0 Third item of business; Dan Lowell appeared before the committee to protest a utilities bill that he had received during an interim period between renters at his rental on First Avenue. It was explained to Mr. Lowell that since he had no renters agreement with the city, and also, that because the billings was still in his father's, Robert Lowell's name, he was responsible for the billing since the previous renter had requested that his service be turned off. Motion by Mel Baker, seconded by Sharon Herman to deny Mr. Lowell's request. Motion carried. Fourth item of business; Joe Leckie appeared to apprise the committee on Settlement of Water Rights that have been submitted to the state. He stated that he has filed two appeals for appropriate right of ownership and one for reserved right of ownership of water rights. He explained various figures • C, Page two to the committee for approval. by Albert Ehrlick to ask the second. Motion carried. Motion by Bob Graham, seconded state for 10.6 cubic feet per Fifth item of business; Sharon Herman stated that the city is currently paying 6% interest on water deposits. It was her recommendation that we stop doing this: Motion by Mel Baker, seconded by Albert Ehrlick that we do-away with interest on water deposits. Attachments: Respe tfully submitted. Dear Mrs. Waddell: We were. at your property located at 314 Wyoming to turn off .water and found the curb box to be defective. City policy requires that all curb boxes be operable. This-is your notice to have the work done. It is the :property owner's responsibility to have this repaired immediately, and the work has to.be done by yourself (the owner) or a licensed plumber. Please let me know within ten (10) days who your plumber will be and when we may expect this work to be done. If we find that your curb box has not been repaired within the 10 day period, and you. have not contacted us, the City will repair the curb box and bill you accordingly.
