STREET/ALLEY COMMITTEE
MARCH 21, 1996 5:00 P.M.

Mike Penny was present to request snow removal to be extended on
East First Street to Alder Avenue and all of the cross streets
between Main Street and East First Street.
Andy gave a recap of snow removal of previous years. The City is
limited for storage. Jim will determine cost difference between
snow removal and plowing to the curb, and report back to the
committee.
West 6th Street improvements near West School were discussed. The
West School turnaround was reviewed with concerns on congestion and
the possible need of an additional turn around west of the school
area. In reference to the expected work Ron Marshall made a
motion, seconded by Gay Easton to contribute $4475 to the street
restoration only. Motion carried.
Leroy Wenz with Frontier Communities was present to discuss the
possibility of placing a garbage container on a concrete pad he
built, even though it is to high. Mr. Wenz built the pads prior to
checking with the City. The committee agreed to look in the field
and propose a recommendation at the next meeting.
Murray Subdivision SID was discussed with three different options
considered.
a. All interior work, no work on 12th- $7643.77.
r ys b. Curb & gutter on 12th Street, valley gutter and asphalt -
p ?o $8832.62.
C. Asphalt only- no curb and gutter- $4067.71.
Discussion on options and city requirements.
Motion by Marvin Carter, seconded by Ron Marshall, to require
curb and gutter and asphalt on all street. Motion carried.
