COUNCIL CHAMBERS MEMBERS PRESENT: Gay Easton, Chairman Ron Marshall Ed Stephens Andy Loebe Joe Leckie Rick Leuthold Jim Flisrand The construction bids for SID #110 and the street material bids were opened at the Park Committee meeting on July 11, 1996. SID 110 - CONSTRUCTION BIDS Construction bids for SID #110 were as follows: JTL Group Bid Bond Total Bid..... $ 170,454.90 Empire Sand & Gravel Bid Bond Total Bid..... $ 149,888.08 The committee recommended awarding the construction bid for SID #110 to Empire Sand & Gravel in the amount of $ 149,888.08. It is the recommendation of the committee to go through with the selling of bonds in the amount of $ 193,000.00. Motion by Ron Marshall to proceed with SID #110, seconded by Ed Stephens. Motion carried. COLD MIX MC-800 Two bids were received for cold-mix MC-800 as follows: Empire Sand & Gravel Bid Bond $ 24.50 Ton .................Total $49,000 JTL Group Bid Bond $ 24.30 Ton .................Total $ 48,600 Motion by Gay Easton to award the bid for cold mix, MC-800 to JTL Group, in the amount of $ 48,600, seconded by Ron Marshall. Motion carried. GAS-OIL-GREASE t C1,19 One bid was received from Cenex for gas, oil and grease products. Cenex Cashier's Check Unleaded gas - $ 1.17 Diesel - $ .73........ Total Bid $ 23,342 • Motion by Ed Stephens to award the bid for gas, oil and grease to Cenex in the amount of $ 23,342, seconded by Gay Easton. Motion carried. LIQUID ASPHALT One bid was received for liquid asphalt from Petro Tech. Petro Tech Bid Bond CRS-2 $ .60 ................Total $ 33,000 MC-800 $ .60 ................Total $ 33,000 • Jim explained that due to an oversight on the city's part regarding the bid for liquid asphalt, the transportation cost was not included in the bid. It was bid for pickup by the city at the site. Jim Flisrand recommended rejecting all liquid asphalt bids. Motion by Gay Easton to reject all bids on liquid asphalt, at this time and to reconsider bidding at a future date, seconded by Ed Stephens. Motion carried. MOOSE STATUE - CABOOSE SALOON Discussion regarding installation of the moose statue at the Caboose Saloon on the city's right-of-way. Motion by Ron Marshall to proceed with an encroachment permit and fee for the Caboose Saloon, seconded by Jim Flisrand. Motion carried. A request was made to use the porta-pat from the container site at the airport for "Appreciation for Aviation Technology Awareness Week". Discussion followed and the committee recommended not allowing this due to the concern for spillage. The meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m. 7 R ectfully sub fitted, dy eb
