The committee proposed to allow Mr. Powell to pour a curb across
his existing driveway instead of removing it, thereby, allowing a
new driveway to be constructed near his new home.
Motion as stated above was made by Bud Johnson and seconded by
Marvin Carter. Motion carried.
High School Recycling:
Discussion on City's involvement. Following extensive review of
cost issues, transportation responsibilities, ownership of
container, and general operation, the committee passed a motion
made by Bud Johnson and seconded by Marvin Carter to allow the
Public Works Director to work out a program with the school using
one of the existing 30 cy containers. This container would be used
for 1 year on a trial basis.
If the program works the City will consider purchasing a special
container for recycling the following year. The Director is
expected to have the program running and in operation by September
15, 1996.
Container Site Fees:
Discussion involving establishment of fees at the container site to
directly reflect the charges assessed the City to dispose waste at
the Billings Landfill. Gay Easton made a motion and Ron Marshall
seconded to recommend approval of a resolution adjusting the
container site fees. Motion carried.
This resolution also allows assessment for all waste disposal at
the container site by contractors, businesses, and non-city
residents.
West School requested a 15 minute parking restriction on West 6th
Street. Discussion regarding need and possible hardship to the
neighborhood. Motion by Ron Marshall and seconded by Bud Johnson
to recommend approval of resolution authorizing 15 minute parking.
other discussion relating to settlement of water line trench on
South Woodland, weeds on lots and sidewalks throughout the City,
and recently constructed turn around at the West School needs to
have the curb adjusted due to improper grade.
The committee recognized Mr. Tom Kilpatrick's letter to the council
regarding the City's requirement of paved parking lots. Motion by
Ron Marshall to table Mr. Kilpatrick's letter at this time. Motion
was seconded by Bud Johnson. Motion carried.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
